These are the kinds of videos that make me stand up and take notice – the “tech” sensors start tingling, and the ideas start bubbling!! MSHVB (Mt St Helens Vietnam Band) has a Behind the Scenes video out of the filming of the clip for their new single “Albatross, Albatross, Albatross”.
Yup, if you’ve raised an eyebrow at this stage, you’d be right – I’d not heard of the Seattle band until today either, and it’s not the music I want to talk about – it’s the helicopter!! Look carefully at the video, and in a number of places you will see the HD video camera suspended in a custom isolation mount on a custom helicopter, to get tasty tasty airborne shots!!
The original article was on CNET but the Gizmodo article clarified which cameras are in use (Panasonic HVX HD on the chopper, and a Red One on the ground).
Check it out!! Suddenly I feel the need to get myself back into R/C modelling – all that time wasted in my youth might actually come into good use!!
