Reputable sources are pointing to the 5D MkIII (or maybe a 7D MkII at a remote stretch) has been seen in the wild – literally!! Read on for more detail!
According to Stephen Oachs (of Aperture Academy fame) while on a shoot in Kenya, Africa, he happened across a:
Japanese man sporting some gear I didn’t recognize. While his English was very limited, I was able to confirm that he works for Canon and is doing in-field testing with the new Canon 200-400mm with built-in teleconverter. He also was testing the new Canon 600mm.
What I also noticed was a Canon camera body that I hadn’t seen before.
Check out Stephen’s blog post for more info and some photos. Also check out Drew Gardner’s blog post that has some more photos and some speculation regarding the various buttons.
I’d certainly take Stephen and Drew as reputable sources, given their awesomeness!! I was also very interested in the lenses, particularly the 200-400mm with built in 1.4x teleconverter… probably not so interested in the price though!
