15 seconds of fame

Alright, maybe it was only 5 seconds of fame, but it would appear more than a few people noticed my sneaky appearance on Episode 28 (Day 36) of The Block on Channel 9!! You can check out the actual page on The Block Website.

So, the back story – Channel 9 approached ShutterClass Studios about using the entire studio to construct a set, film one of the weekly challenges, and then clean up – all within 3 days! “Sure thing” I said, and so it was done… Almost!

In a conspiracy of sorts, Channel 9 wanted to use the studio exactly when I was going to be interstate!! So I actually missed out on most of the action, but my team in the studio did a great job looking after proceedings and making sure the client was happy (thanks Tony!!). And in return, we both managed sneaky cameos on the show! It was actually hard to tell when they were filming half the time, with 5 cameras running at once, so I appeared in a few background scenes! Not enough air time to be getting calls about my next Aussie drama role, but you never know!! 😉

I’ve been on film sets before, both here in Australia and overseas – and I must say that film sets and television sets are completely different beasts. TV has a much more hectic pace to it, lots going on all at once with a much more autonomous feel to it. The Channel 9 crew and everyone on set were awesome, and I think they were happy with ShutterClass and the space!

Looking forward to the next TV production booking, it’s good to see the studio space being used for more than just photo shoots!!
